T O P I C R E V I E WDerrickOn yahoo answers I came across this question... ***I think I'm a bit of a snob?I don't mean to be so snobby, but I really don't like a lot of people! I just disapprove of a lot of things for example; I hate excessive drinkers, I frown upon smoking and drug use, I dislike bad manners, I dislike homophobia, racism and sexism. I hate swearing and rudeness in public. I hate people who shout in public. I hate people who dress really badly. I can be very superficial. I won't and couldn't date someone who wasn't intelligent. I highly regard people who work hard. I don't like public displays of affection. etc. But ironically I hate snobby people... And I don't mean to be so critical and slating a lot of other people. I am polite and considerate towards people but deep down I do feel a lot higher than others. How can I get past being this way? Because although I don't show it I feel incapable of socialising with a lot of people who I think aren't attractive or favourable to be around... Librans are too sweet and diplomatic for this superfical claptrapMalenaThat actually reminds me a lot of a former friend who did have Libra Sun, Virgo Moon. She totally was the type to take "dressing badly" as personal disrespect to her - like, you didn't care enough to look good. To a point that's true, but sometimes it would never occur to her that sometimes people didn't have the money for better clothes, or they simply preferred a certain look that wasn't her style, or just didn't have her eye for what went together. quote:Librans are too sweet and diplomatic for this superfical claptrapI have known some VERY judgmental Libra individuals... plenty are not this way, of course, but sometimes the streak of "diplomacy" and "sweetness" can manifest as anger and contempt for people who do not act as they do. (It's out of balance for the Libra to be doing ALL the diplomacy, you see...) SulkyarcherI hate snobby people. I avoid them at all cost. It's too bad people like that never will able to produce great art like Michelangelo, or great music like Beethoven. Or dance like Michael Jackson. It's funny that they're so high on themselves, because they haven't even reached the status those above artists have reached, yet they have the audacity to look down on other people. Most snobby people are boring and mean anyways, so I usually don't have an interest, or care, about them.Oh, and I'm a South Node in Virgo, in the 6th house.girlwiththerainysoulthe snobbiest person in our family is my libra sun uncle; he's disliked by many..I don't know his AC and have forgotten his moon...I don't dislike him but he's a very difficult person, very critical and totally dismissive of others who think differently than him, especially when it comes to politics..he's also the oldest person in the family so people have to respect him..the second snobbiest person I know is my father (who often butts heads with the said uncle..they used to be business partners but things got VERY ugly and nasty)..his only libra placement is mercury conjunct venus conjunct that uncle's sun! I guess his virgo moon doesn't help other snobby people I know are capricorn moons; I don't know many cap suns, but these cap moons are also quick to dismiss others...also good luck getting them to feel or do something out of "empathy" or understanding for othersaries sun/moon/ac, overall they're more open and easier to get close to, perhaps the element of fire causes this, but these people too have little patience to put up with almost anybody, because they're the "I know the best" type, they're also very competitive and often concsider other people too slow or stupidthe behavior of virgo is a whole lot different, they're more into finding errors (what's wrong in their book) and then doing all they can in correcting you...in their own minds they're only trying to help, but at the same time they can be critical/harshSouthern SunVirgo-influenced behaviour isn't snobby, only that we tend to find the errors lightning quick, and decide whether we should try to fix it or leave it alone. Some people can take it too far.Libra... I have known those in my life with Libra ASC or inner planets to be more selective than most, and want people to act properly, look a certain way, etc. It doesn't jive well with me, sometimesPixieJaneIt sounds like human behavior.Imagine if Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey had been an overweight, foul smelling, scraggly haired trailer trash who can't dress himself who loudly belted profanities (in between belches from his heavy beer drinking) through a mouth missing some of his teeth (though maybe we can give Christian's truck oversized wheels and truck nuts to replace the helicopter, but it still needs a new muffler) but otherwise treats Anastasia exactly the same way (just on a much lower budget), still think it would be a bestseller? Or that it wouldn't instead be adapted to an episode of CSI rather than a box office hit? What about if we make Edward Cullen in Twilight a bald, wrinkly faced freak, but otherwise the same way? Still think it would be a bestseller and popular movie?Of course not. Because, generally speaking, people are shallow and things like looks, ambition, intelligence (sometimes, people even prefer degrees over actual intelligence), wealth, and other factors are very important. Our economy would be very different if this were not so, as would our media.Heck, it seems the vast majority of movies can't actually make a movie about an outcast or ugly duckling without it being a pretty boy or girl who transforms the moment the glasses are removed and hairstyle changed (often with a complete wardrobe makeover), and often look like swans in spite of how they're made to look even before the makeover. Of course if such a character wasn't that kind of hottie then the audience wouldn't buy it, because the audience is just as bad as the people in the story that the audience is shaking their heads at. (That said, Shrek was a pleasant surprise with the twist at the end of Fiona choosing to marry a troll as a troll and live in the swamp, that was refreshing.) How many women on LL would date a man who didn't keep himself presentable, lacked ambition, or say something outside his control like his being smaller than her? How many would tell other women not to "settle" for a man like that? For that matter, who would want to do business with a person like that? (Naturally, most would not be openly so to such a person, just as this person says she is polite while secretly looking down on them.) Perhaps the few who would should share their charts because I'd find that more remarkable than someone having high standards (and worried how such a person might make him or her look). As BFS sings, High School Never Ends . (This isn't even including how many criticize and look down on others who cry foul when someone looks down on and criticize the one doing the same thing.)But if you want to look at the astrology of it then I suppose Scorpio, Leo, and Capricorn would be the most prone to it, but class background is also important. The only Libra I could see here is being polite about it (that is, not being openly snobby, what some would call being two-faced) and also wanting to change it as it's unfair, though I could see Pisces and Aquarius also being brave enough to look inside themselves like that and seeking to change it. That's not to say I've never known a Libra with very high standards for people (only one was an outright snob, but he was honest and rude about it, the other seemed to have very high standards that I associated with her Scorpio heavy chart, and it's possible her Libra sun made her downplay it somewhat so that she actually was a polite snob). That said, I'm also considering the possibility by how she worded it that she wasn't actually wanting to change but to be validated in her standards (probably after someone called her a snob in real life), as it's a pattern I've noticed (related to women putting themselves down in order to fish for compliments to feel good about themselves without the guilt of feeling vain).colorful butterflyIt just sounds like standards to me. I don't think it is superficial as we all have some degree of selectiveness in people we are with or hang out with. I don't think you would be rude to others who have things you dislike as qualities in them but you just wouldn't be found having them in your house or being in their presence on a consistent basis.I think this is probably more of a Virgo trait, Libra is more relational. I have moon in Libra . I know a few guys with Virgo mercury and they drink on a consistent. Dress sloppy and are disorganized in their living environments. Maybe Sun sign in Virgo? They are more of a neat freak that I am , very finicky about others , do not want to be with someone who is not attractive or have issues unless they want to fix them in someways. Usually drawn to Pisces type etc.SulkyarcherOh yeah, people definitely need to learn to discern. Imagine a romance movie with no good looking people in it. Yikes! One of my siblings once had a music teacher who was a Virgo, and thanks to his high standards, they all competed in New York, as a choir. The power of Virgo for you! The following teacher wasn't picky enough and the choir's quality, and value, went down.
